When resentment, anxiety, and overwhelm begin to build

Perhaps you hold things in, replay conversations, feel guilty after speaking up, or become overwhelmed after trying to manage too much for too long.

Anger may show up as resentment, tension, withdrawal, irritability, anxiety, or a reaction that feels stronger than you expected.

For many women, anger is only part of the story. It may exist alongside hurt, fear, grief, shame, disappointment, loneliness, or needs and boundaries that have been difficult to express.

Healing Anger offers a compassionate place to explore these patterns without judgment. The aim is not to get rid of anger, but to understand it more deeply, listen to what it may be communicating, and develop greater awareness and choice in how you respond.

The Healing Anger Group for Women

Women's Anger Management Groups

A place to understand what may be happening beneath the reaction

Anger often carries information.

It may point toward a boundary that has been crossed, pain that has not been acknowledged, fear that has been difficult to express, or needs that have remained unspoken.

At other times, anger may have become a familiar way of protecting yourself when vulnerability feels unsafe.

The Healing Anger Group for Women offers a structured setting to explore these possibilities with curiosity, compassion, and personal responsibility.

The group does not ask women to become less emotional, more agreeable, or silent. Instead, it invites you to learn more about your responses, notice what happens before anger escalates, and explore ways of communicating and acting that are more closely aligned with your values.

One important strategy to deal with anger is to pause and think before acting. This can help us understand why we feel the way we do and see the situation from a broader perspective. Unfortunately some people become stuck in their reactiveness, they  become defensive and then continue to struggle to control their anger, but others are willing to learn more about their anger and find ways to manage it better.

If you’re someone who wants to make a change and get help, Moose Anger Management can support you.

Upcoming Group Sessions

The group may be useful if you:

  • hold anger in until it becomes resentment
  • feel ashamed or afraid of your anger
  • become overwhelmed or reactive during conflict
  • struggle to express your needs directly
  • find it difficult to maintain boundaries
  • feel disconnected from what you are actually feeling
  • want to understand recurring relationship patterns
  • want to explore anger without being reduced to a stereotype

The group provides education, reflection, practical tools, and opportunities to explore your own patterns alongside other women.

You may begin to notice earlier signs of escalation, better understand the emotions that accompany anger, and consider more constructive ways of responding.

The work is not about perfection. It is about developing greater awareness, responsibility, and choice. This reflects our book’s emphasis on befriending anger, learning from it, and approaching change as an ongoing process rather than a quick fix.

Our Healing Anger Groups for Women are offered online approximately four times a year.

The program takes place over six weeks, with 12 hours of guided learning and group connection. We have offered this format for many years and have found that it provides the time and continuity needed to explore the course material thoughtfully, practise new skills, and reflect on how anger, emotions, communication, boundaries, and relationships show up in your life.

Meeting with the same group each week also creates a shared learning experience. Participants have the opportunity to move through the material together, learn from different perspectives, and remain connected to the process from beginning to end.

The six-week format is an invitation to make meaningful space for yourself: to deepen your understanding of your emotions, your relationships, and the patterns you may wish to explore with greater curiosity and compassion.

An advanced group is also available for graduates who would like to continue their learning and reflection.

Individual Counselling

When your story needs more private space

Some experiences may feel too personal, complex, or tender to begin in a group.

Individual counselling can provide space to explore your own history, relationships, emotions, boundaries, and responses in a setting focused on your circumstances.

You may prefer individual counselling if you:

  • feel uncomfortable discussing your experiences in a group
  • want to focus on one relationship or recurring pattern
  • feel overwhelmed by shame, fear, or emotional intensity
  • are unsure whether a group is the right starting point
  • want support understanding what may lie beneath repeated reactions

The work is collaborative. You remain the expert in your own life.
