Rick Geddes, M.Ed., holds a Master of Counselling Psychology degree from the University of Victoria. Rick has extensive training and experience that focuses on substance addictions and trauma processing, and works with individuals on emotional regulation, especially anger, anxiety, somatic experience counselling and depression. Through his professional experience, Rick has facilitated many groups geared towards emotional management, effective communication, relationship skill-building, parenting and substance abuse issues. Aiming to empower clients through a Person-Centered approach, Rick understands the innate worth of every person and guides clients to a greater understanding of themselves and the solutions to the barriers they see in their lives.
Rick is Indigenous from the Haida Nation but was raised in foster-care on Vancouver Island. He has worked for Indigenous addiction centers on and off for the last 30 years. Rick has been in recovery for over 3 decades and is very familiar with the 12 step groups.
